Overview

The Mario Kart 64 Switch competitive community is a distinct organized Mario Kart 64 scene centered on Nintendo Switch Online play, with its own Discord, Grand Prix leagues, VS Elo rankings, tournaments, livestreams, player records, match history, and in-person events.

The MK64 Switch Discord is the primary home of the Mario Kart 64 Switch competitive community built around live races, league play, ranked VS, Grand Prix competition, tournaments, streams, records, and in-person events. Gumby launched the server on July 15, 2022 with SpacedCowboy, YoyoYoshi, and GG as a place to organize online multiplayer matches.

Since its founding in July 2022, the Mario Kart 64 Switch competitive community has maintained continuous league play, ranked VS competition, tournaments, streams, records tracking, and CampKart meetups. Gumby, SpacedCowboy, YoyoYoshi, GG, Patalus, players, streamers, organizers, and community members have built it into the primary hub for organized Mario Kart 64 Nintendo Switch Online competition, featuring Grand Prix tournaments, GP League, Elo rankings, ranked VS, tutorial content, special events, highlight videos, CampKart meetups, and ongoing live competition.

YoyoYoshi originally maintained this Neocities site as the MK64 Switch Multiplayer Hub within the broader YoyoYoshi Hub network. The hub has now moved to awRev.com/mk64 as its permanent institutional home for centralized rankings, match history, player records, event coverage, media, resources, community history, and ongoing activity.

Latest Updates

June 2026 (YoyoYoshi): The MK64 Switch Multiplayer Hub moved from Neocities to awRev.com/mk64, giving the Mario Kart 64 Switch competitive community a stronger long-term home for rankings, history, match records, player pages, league coverage, media, and ongoing community documentation.

May 25, 2026 (YoyoYoshi): I expanded the MK64 Switch VS Rankings system with weighted multiplayer Elo rankings, searchable player history pages, full match chronology integration, quarterly historical Elo snapshots, and expanded rankings coverage through 2026-Q2.

The system now gives the active Mario Kart 64 Switch competitive community a centralized home for rankings, player history, match chronology, quarterly Elo snapshots, and long-term competitive records through the MK64 Switch Hub and YoyoYoshi Bot infrastructure. I also expanded stream integration, with selected Twitch streams now automatically populating in the Discord #streams channel.

GP League Season 3 is underway. Players are competing through weekly pairings, evolving standings, integrated scheduling coverage, and centralized results tracking through the Hub.

May 7, 2026 (YoyoYoshi): The community launched Grand Prix League Season 3 (North America), continuing its Grand Prix competition history with a new custom league format.

I added standings, scheduling, player history tracking, and centralized results coverage to the Hub. I also expanded tournament history coverage with full CampKart 2025 and Euro Kart Clash results pages.

May 6, 2026 (YoyoYoshi): I launched the MK64 Switch VS Rankings section, covering parsed Discord VS match results from July 17, 2022 through January 14, 2026.

The new VS section includes a weighted Elo leaderboard, full player tables, and a searchable match log. It gives the community a centralized home for rankings, player results, and competitive history that had previously been scattered across Discord posts.

April 25, 2026 (YoyoYoshi): I launched the MK64 Switch Multiplayer Hub on Neocities as the first centralized site for the Mario Kart 64 Switch competitive community's tournament history, rankings, media, records, events, and resources.

The original launch included GP Elo rankings covering Grand Prix results from April 25, 2023 through February 10, 2025, alongside Discord history, tournament pages, CampKart coverage, media sections, and community resources.

Why It Matters

What began as a Discord server in 2022 has evolved into a multi-year competitive community with leagues, rankings, tournaments, media coverage, historical records, and in-person meetups.

Mario Kart 64 began for many players as a couch multiplayer game shared with siblings, parents, cousins, friends, and whoever else happened to be in the room. The MK64 Switch community carries that same multiplayer spirit into an active online scene where players continue racing, improving, organizing events, and competing across formats.

The new awRev hub brings the live competitive ecosystem together in one place: GP League, VS rankings, match history, player records, tournament results, videos, streams, CampKart events, and community resources.
